We met in the midst of the pandemic, thanks to a little luck with a dating app, and had our first date via video call. It went so well that a few days later, we scheduled a socially-distanced hike at a local forest park. We knew it was going to be something special when it turned out we both showed up 20 minutes early for the date.

We were on a cruise to the Caribbean, ready to relax after a hectic move. Brian arranged for a surprise proposal on the back deck of the ship on our first night at sea. There was champagne and the cruise director even arranged for their band to play. Ashley said yes and in turn presented Brian with a ring of his own.
