We spent some time talking online before we met in person. I had been praying the Prayer for Husbands, discerning what is next for me. Brian and I agreed to meet at the local mall for ice cream. As I was going up the escalator to meet him at the food court, he was going down and I yelled, "nice meeting you too!" He came back up a few minutes later. Little did I know, Brian had the plan to go to an escape room together. Those require a lot of communication and it was my first time ever participating in one. It was very nerve wracking, walking into the room and not knowing what to expect. The hour passed quickly with Brian and I communicating pretty effectively and sharing all the clues we were finding to put them together. After we went to a local Mexican restaurant and had dinner. We ended the night with a walk around the town. 6 hours later, and it was the most memorable first date, ever.
Brian had a few different ideas on how to propose to me. He decided that since attending church was a priority for me, that would be the best place to pop the question. He enlisted the help of his sister and brother-in-law to get me to church, which was easy! At the end of Mass, I was showing Brian a stained glass of one of my favorite saints, Saint Kateri. He stepped away for a minute as I was admiring the stained glass. When I turned around, there he was on one knee. He shared beautiful sentiments with me and proposed to me right there in church! It was beautiful!
