We met through eHarmony. We noticed that we both shared a desire to serve Jesus and a love for music. After exchanging messages and enjoying several phone calls, we met up in Waco for our first date at Ninfa's. Then the phone calls became more and more frequent and we began making regular drives up and down I35 to see each other.

To celebrate the one year anniversary of their meeting, Brett took Ashley to Mt. Bonnell, where they gazed out at the beautiful Austin and Hill Country scenery. Brett gave a hint as they started the walk up to Mt. Bonnell, saying "Wow my pockets sure are full!" but Ashley continued on the walk without knowing what was coming. Brett said sweet words about the life God can help us build together there. Ashley started to get clued in about what was about to happen when Brett moved Ashley's purse and their water bottles out of the way so he could get down on one knee. Brett's friend, Jake, was hiding as the proposal happened to capture pictures of the special moment.
