Our story all started because of my sister, Alexis. One night before the start of sixth grade, Alexis and I were staying at my eldest sister's house for the weekend. During that weekend, Alexis invited her friend group over, and lo and behold, Billy ended up tagging along. I was introduced to him that night, and that was it. The rest of it was all God. We became friends that night, best friends throughout sixth grade, and never stopped talking since. Throughout high school, Billy and I knew God had placed us in each other's lives for a reason, but we weren’t sure what the exact reason was. So, instead of jumping into something, we prayed about it. My grandfather always told me that any relationship meant to last needed to be built around our faith in God, and I always knew if we wanted a real shot at the life we now have, God had to be the center of our relationship. It took us a few years of remaining best friends in high school and many, many. prayers waiting for God to say, "Okay, this is the time." Up until, 2020, when God finally did. Billy asked me on July 15, 2020, to be his girlfriend, and on July 28, 2024, he asked me to marry him during a family beach day with our now 1-year-old daughter, Delilah. God knew our plan. God knew where we were headed. And He still knows. Here’s to getting married in 2025!
