The Day We Met... 01.08.2022 Becky and Ashley’s love story began when they first met for rehearsals for the Island Princess in August 2022 where they had been cast together for the world cruise contract. Becky was Ashley’s Cast Manager, trying her best to keep things professional, but there was something about Ashley that always made her laugh maybe it was his dance moves in his black ballet shoes. Night after night, Ashley would sit on the famous “bench,” patiently waiting for Becky for hours after rehearsals. Of course Becky was always late to meet him, but they finally spent time just them two talking, listening to music and getting to know each other. Our First Kiss... 26.08.2022 One night, the cast went to a local bar, where after a few drinks Ashley sat down at the piano and sang “Suddenly Seymour” and “A Whole New World,” hoping to impress Becky. That was the night Becky realised she liked him—really liked him. The next day, the cast went to Griffith Observatory and they snuck away from the rest of the cast to watch the sunset and had a cheeky first kiss with Hollywood in the background. From there, Becky and Ashley’s relationship grew. They travelled around the world together, performing on both the Island and Coral Princess. After their contract ended, they took the next big step: moving in together on land. In September 2023, they found their first flat, and by March 2024, they had bought a house together. Now, they are back performing together on the Caribbean Princess with their love story continuing to unfold, but they know the best is yet to come. The Engagement... 10.09.2024 On the 10th September 2024 they had just arrived in LA, excited to start their holiday and return to the place where they first met. Becky had no idea what was about to happen even though all of hers and Ashley’s family knew about this surprise months in advance. The day before their trip, Ashley had a slight medical scare, which led to a last-minute trip to A&E. In the rush, Becky ended up packing Ashley’s luggage herself and was sure there wasn’t a ring hidden anywhere. After a long journey involving a car, a train, a tube, a plane, and a Mustang, they finally arrived in Santa Clarita, a little jet-lagged but thrilled to be back where it all started. Of course, Ashley’s first priority was food, so they grabbed a quick bite to eat at one of their favourite places. But then, Ashley had another plan, and he suggested they take a walk to the famous “bench” where he used to wait for Becky for hours and hours after rehearsals. Still Becky had no clue and was happy to have a walk around sleepy Santa Clarita reminiscing about when they were here before. When they arrived at the bench, there was no one around so they sat and of course Becky was chatting away, and that’s when Ashley surprised Becky. He got down on one knee, pulled out a box from his sock, and asked her to marry him. Completely caught off guard, Becky couldn’t believe what was happening. But without hesitation, of course she said YES, and cried many MANY happy tears. She couldn’t believe that Ashley had asked her to marry him on the first night of their very special holiday. They had an unforgettable trip, driving around and exploring LA, where Becky took way too many photos showing off her beautiful engagement ring and told pretty much everyone she bumped into that she was engaged.
