Ariel and I met at the gym of all places and from the very beginning, everything just clicked. Our first date was simple: tacos and long conversation. We talked for hours and quickly realized how much we had in common. From that moment on, we were inseparable dating right away, having deep conversations, and working out together daily. Not long after, we moved in together, and it felt effortless. Everything unfolded so naturally, as if it was always meant to be. Soon after, my mom’s side of the family came down to Florida, giving Ariel the chance to meet them. As the 2024 holiday season approached, he met my dad’s side of the family as well. Throughout the year, I met his immediate family, and on New Year’s Eve, we both met each other’s entire families, celebrating the New Year together one family becoming united. One moment that still makes us smile: when Ariel met my grandmother, “GG,” for the very first time. As soon as she saw us together, she asked me, in her unmistakable Jamaican accent, “So… when you getting married?” At the time, we had no plans but now we understand exactly what she saw. As we stepped into the new year, we began talking seriously about our future. We prayed together, and one by one, the things we hoped for began to come to life. I finally met Ariel’s children, and after traveling across state lines to pick them up, our family grew overnight. I love his children with all my heart, and seeing the way he loves and leads them made me fall even deeper in love with him. We shared our first Christmas and New Year’s together as a family, and we look forward to creating many more traditions of our own. There was never any doubt or second guessing we simply knew. When we went ring shopping, we found our rings at the very first store. Another reminder that when it’s right, it’s easy. We truly believe God has had His hand over our journey from the very beginning, and we’re so excited for all He has planned for our future.
