We met in July 2024 at our church’s young adult ministry, held at Celebration Church in Blountville, TN. We started dating in August and made it official on October 6th. We knew we wanted to honor God with our relationship and to be sure we were aligning our will for our relationship with his. Knowing how relational and kind God is, I (Ashley) prayed to Him and asked for a rainbow in the sky at some point the next time we were together as a “God wink” that He was pleased for us to pursue a relationship headed towards marriage. The very next date we went on, as I requested, I was yapping away in the car about who knows what when Aleksey interrupts me to say, “Look, there’s a rainbow”. I could go into detail about how crazy, cool, and special that was regarding our changed plans for the day and the fact that Aleksey had no clue I had prayed that prayer, but long story short, God has been so kind and patient with us from the start of our relationship - we know He will be the one to sustain us. It has not always been easy or fun, but it has been good. We are grateful for this opportunity to be united in Christ and marriage as we pursue our loving creator for all the days of our lives.
