February 5th, 2023, we both went to a mutual friend's party, one that he didn't want to go to in the beginning. I loved parties, dancing, and meeting new people so I was very excited for this event. The moment I got there, I saw him sitting at the table across from mine, my heart sank, and I turned to my sister and told her "Don't look right now but that guy behind us is SO CUTE!" She laughed, but for the rest of the night I couldn't stop sneaking glances at him and talking about him. I kept hoping he would ask me to dance or come talk to me but before I knew it, it was almost the end of the night. I decided to be brave and do something that I had never done before; I went up to this boy and asked him if he would dance with me. He said no at first, (broke my heart) but only because he didn't know how to dance. I said I'd teach him. We actually had a lot of fun dancing, and I didn't even care that he kept stepping on my foot because in the moment, I felt really great being around him. I hated the idea that this would be the last time me and him crossed paths, so I decided to take one last stretch and ask him for his Instagram. We ended up texting for a year, doing a LOT of Zoom letter writing together, and he quickly became my best friend. March 15th, 2024 rolled around he officially asked me to be his girlfriend (I WAS BOUNCING OFF THE WALLS) and got me a basket with all my favorite snacks, trinkets and most importantly, a huge Hello Kitty plushie (he knows me so well). Since then, we've only been growing closer together and learning new things, I can truly say I rely on him for anything and everything, he's my rock. But it still felt like there was a barrier between us, something that was too difficult to overcome being 210 miles apart. On March 31st, 2025, he moved to my city, Eureka, to be closer to me and get to know me on a more personal level. This change was the best thing that could've happened to us. The love of my life was finally living minutes away from me and I got to physically see him more than once a month now. Because of this we got to experience big things together for the first time, even little everyday things that people may take for granted like grocery shopping, going out on ministry, or Target runs, these turned out to be our favorite activities just because it meant we could do it together. 4 months later, on July 26th, 2025, he took me to an ocean-view vista point, got on one knee, and asked me to marry him. I'm pretty sure I blacked out for a good minute out of excitement but in that moment, everything I've ever wanted since I was a little kid was coming true. At 6 years old I would daydream about what I would want in a perfect, loving husband and how great my life would be when I'm an "adult", now watching it all unravel, every dream of mine coming true 14 years later is absolutely incredible and only something that can be described as: "A blessing from Jehovah." To complete the start of our journey, it would mean the world to us if you could join us on April 4th, 2026, when we officially and finally tie the knot, saying: "I Do."
