Things To Do

You're probably traveling pretty far to party with us, so you may as well hang out for a bit and explore. Here are a few ideas for what to do--check back for more!

Go to Acadia National Park

Bar Harbor, ME 04609
, (207) 288-3338

Acadia is breathtaking. It's about an hour away from Blue Hill. We're working on a more specific list of trails and outings, but we definitely recommend spending a day or two bike riding, hiking, or even driving the park. It's worth it, we promise And Bar Harbor sure is a cute little town for a beer after.

Eat Everything in Portland

Portland, ME

The food scene in Portland is great. Some favorites include: Fore Street, for a fancy, wood-fired meal Cong Tu Bot, for kickin' Vietnamese food Micucci's, for unreasonably large slabs of Sicilian pizza Miyake, for excellent sushi Mr. Tuna, also for excellent sushi Eventide Oyster, for, you know, oysters and seafood Scratch Bakery, for the OG sourdough bagel that will knock your socks off Standard Baking for all things bread and sweet Empire for Chinese food and great cocktails There are also breweries and distilleries galore, it's almost hard to keep up. Spend a few days eating, drinking, and walking around Portland, you won't be sad you did.

Sammy's Deluxe

488 Main Street, Rockland, ME 04841
, (207) 466-9059

This is our favorite restaurant in the world. An absolute dream. Don't skip it.

Buy Some Old Stuff

Ellsworth, ME 04605

Maine is full of cool vintage and antique stores. Like old cast iron pans? They're everywhere. A mink coat? Someone's grandma is definitely ready to sell that to you. Chintzy crystal goblets? They outnumber people in the state. There are a few antique malls in Ellsworth, but all the way up and down Route 1 you'll find all sorts of stuff like this.

Just walk around Portland

Portland, ME 04101

Portland! It's like Boston (cobblestone streets, surprisingly good food, old-timey historical stuff, New England charm) but with more old fisherman and way fewer assholes. Plus, you can pretty much walk everywhere! Ashley is putting together specific ideas, but Portland is awesome, nobody regrets spending a few days there.

Maybe this isn't your thing, but Lighthouses???

They're everywhere! Maybe go see some! Just google it, you can barely throw a crab into the ocean without hitting one. Ashley likes them and will likely drag Duncan out to Bug Light on their next Portland visit.

For all the days along the way
