Yes! Shuttles will pick up and drop off guests at the four hotels where room blocks have been reserved, though you do NOT have to stay at one of these hotels to ride on the shuttle (see next FAQ). The four hotels where pick-ups & drop-offs will occur are: • Fairmont Austin (101 Red River St.) • Hotel Indigo (810 Red River St.) • Hampton Inn & Suites Downtown Austin (200 San Jacinto Blvd.) • Hotel Magdalena (1101 Music Ln.) Please meet in the lobby of each hotel at 3:20pm for a 3:30pm shuttle departure to the wedding ceremony & reception venue. A shuttle coordinator will be waiting in the lobby to help facilitate shuttle loading. The ride to our venue will take around 30 minutes. Transportation will not be provided for any other events of the weekend, but everywhere in Austin is within a quick 10-minute rideshare. You know which company we prefer ;)
Nope! The hotels where we have room blocks are simply the pick-up & drop-off points for the shuttles. If you are staying somewhere else but would still like to ride on a shuttle (which we recommend), please make your way to one of the hotels listed on our "Travel & Lodging" page by no later than 3:20pm on Saturday to board the shuttle for a 3:30pm departure. We will have plenty of seats available to accommodate all guests who would like to ride to &/or from the venue, so even if you don't take the shuttle there you're welcome to ride one back.
The Friday welcome reception at Mattie's will take place in a heated, insulated tent. The wedding ceremony on Saturday will take place outside weather permitting and will last around 30 minutes. Light fleece blankets will be available for guests. Cocktail hour will be a 50/50 mix of indoors and outdoors, and from dinner onwards all reception activities will take place indoors. (Should the weather prove inclement, all ceremony and reception events will be moved indoors.) Sunday's brunch at Sholz Garten will take place entirely inside.
To allow all wedding guests – including parents– a night of relaxation and uninhibited revelry, we have chosen to make our special day an adults only affair. We invite you to let loose and celebrate with us in style! (No guests under 18, please.)
Nobody should feel obligated to rent a tuxedo or buy a new dress, but we think there's something especially beautiful about being surrounded by well-dressed revelers on a twinkling January evening, don't you? We would love for our guests to wear a tux or full-length gown if it's within your capacity to do so, but formal suits and midi- or cocktail length dresses are also welcome. No matter what you choose to wear, we know you'll look simply stunning.
Guests may select one of the below entrée options for their plated dinner at our reception. Please be sure to include each guest's initials next to their entrée selection on your RSVP card, as well as any dietary restrictions or allergies. • CHICKEN: crispy chicken thighs, roasted fingerling potatoes, caper berries, pink peppercorn & roasted garlic pan jus • BEEF: bavette steak, crispy fingerling potatoes, braised onion, spiced heirloom carrots, peppercorn sauce • FISH: lemon & herb stuffed trout, charred corn & tomato, habanero crema (not spicy) • VEGETARIAN: TBD locally sourced option dependent upon seasonality & market availability
