Resort Chic. Think cocktail party but beach appropriate. For women, that includes, without limitation, tropical, beach resort or maxi dresses or jumpsuits, and for men, pants or shorts (linen or light material is great for the beach) and a polo or button-down (long or short sleeve). For men, a jacket can fancy it up but is certainly not required. (Pinterest has great ideas for beach wedding guest attire). Please avoid athletic attire or athleisure, tshirts and cargo shorts.
October 6, 2020 - The initial deposit to reserve a guaranteed room is due by October 12, 2020, but we would be grateful if you could let us know by October 6, 2020. Many thanks! Any reservation made after October 12 is not guaranteed and is based on availability and may be at an increased rate.
Yes! Please see the task bar above and select "Registry". We know it's a bit unconventional, but we truly believe we have everything we need for our home but would greatly appreciate any contributions towards our honeymoon. That being said, if you're attending the wedding, that's certainly a more than generous gift in and of itself!
As soon as possible! Due to COVID-19, there are SIGNIFICANT delays in obtaining passports (some delays as lengthy as 6 months or longer). We strongly recommend you start that application or renewal process as soon as you are able. Note that while we understand a passport card is sufficient to enter Mexico by sea, you must have a passport book to enter Mexico by air. Please see the following link to the State Department's page regarding passport applications and renewals: https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/passports.html If closer to time to the wedding you become fearful about whether your passport will be received in time, please reach out to your congressman or congresswoman for assistance, as they can expedite the process during these times.
That's a great question! YES! YES, WE DID! Please request to follow our special Instagram page at @chadley_wedding, which includes details and videos regarding the wedding and the resort. Among other things, we take you on a video tour of the resort, list our top 10 favorite and 10 least favorite things about the resort, and explain how the resort and wedding department are handling COVID-19.
Dreams Riviera Cancun is a family-friendly resort, so certainly feel free to bring your children, especially if you'd like to make your trip a family vacation. However, it is especially important to us that the ceremony and other wedding events not include interruptions, so if you anticipate that your child(ren) may have difficulty quietly observing events, please kindly utilize the nanny service or kid's Explorer's Club offered by the resort. If during the ceremony or any other wedding event your child(ren) become(s) disruptive, please quietly remove your child(ren) from the event. Certainly feel free to reach out to us should you have any questions.
Yes! Please let us know at avandevender16@gmail.com if you are a vegetarian, vegan, pescatarian, or have a food allergy. The resort will make accommodations as long as we receive that information sufficiently in advance.
Based on the information we have as of August 2020, we will not cancel the wedding due to COVID-19. The worst case scenario that could cause a postponement is if either the U.S. government, the State of Georgia, or Mexico locks down and prevents travel to and from such jurisdictions. If a government-forced lock down affects our April 17, 2021 wedding date, we will postpone the wedding to a later date at the resort. Currently, as of August 2020, the Mexico land border is closed, but not air travel. We ourselves visited the resort as of August 9, 2020. That being said, we do recommend buying travel insurance as a general matter but certainly during these times. Our booking website through our travel agent, Yellow Umbrella Events, includes information regarding insurance. Please see the Travel tab above for such website link.
Great question! While we made a video detailing such safety measures on our @chadley_wedding Instagram page, here are a few highlights: * Temperature checks before check-in and before entering any restaurant * Hand sanitizer dispensers everywhere * High-touch objects (such as remotes and room Ipads) are vacuum-sealed in each room * The resort is largely outdoors or has open-air spaces, including the lobby, pools, outside entertainment, beach and some outdoor restaurants. If you only ate in your room or at the outdoor restaurants, the most time you'd be indoors is in your room. * The resort staff is vigilant about wearing masks and sanitizing surfaces and chairs. * Elevators can hold only 4 people at a time.
Another great question. In addition to the general resort safety above, the wedding will include the following: (1) disinfecting the wedding furniture shortly prior to the wedding itself, (2) easy access to nearby hand sanitizer, (3) vacuum-sealed wedding cutlery, (4) reduced capacity of chairs at reception tables (the typical capacity is 10; as of Aug. 2020, it's 6; they anticipate an increase to 8 if things get better), (5) all wedding events are outdoors, (6) there will be no buffet (dinner will be served directly to you) and (7) a color-coded wristband system. Regarding #7, assuming it's still necessary as of April 2021, we will provide each wedding guest an option to wear a green, yellow or red wristband. This will communicate to others your level of comfort interacting with others. Green indicates you're fine with close contact; yellow indicates you're fine interacting but socially distanced; and red indicates you are not comfortable with contact outside of your party.
Absolutely not! We cannot emphasize enough that we completely understand if you do not feel comfortable traveling or attending a wedding due to COVID-19, and in no way, shape, or form do we desire that you put yourself in a situation in which you are not comfortable for our sake. We will endeavor to provide as much information as possible so that you can make an informed decision that is best for you, and certainly don't hesitate to reach out for such information. We recommend checking out our videos at our Instagram account @chadley_wedding for additional information or you can reach out to Ashley and/or Chad directly.
