COVID-19 REGULATIONS

PLEASE READ

For guests coming from out of town: most of DFW is under a mandatory mask regulation so be sure to bring yours along to wear when out in public. Our venue is also under specific COVID regulations so we wanted to share that with you so you know what to expect when you come to celebrate with us on our big day! Masks ARE required for all guests in the chapel for the ceremony. Masks will also be required inside except when eating/drinking. While outside (cocktail hour & reception) masks are encouraged but not mandatory if you are practicing social distancing. We ask everyone to please respect these guidelines as we have several high-risk loved ones who will be in attendance & we want to protect them as much as we can!

How We Met

Slow Burn

Ashley and I met in 2015 through a mutual friend, but didn’t get to know each other more until 2018 on social media. I loved talking to Ashley. We instantly clicked. However, I needed to see how we would get along in person. I asked her out to a Dallas Mavericks game, but tried to keep it cool and casual, because I wasn't sure she was interested in me. Little did I know, she had been hoping I would ask her out. After that night, I knew for sure I wanted to pursue a relationship with Ashley, and the rest is history.

Proposal

Steak Dinner Deception

I asked Ashley if she would go on a date with me to Perry’s Steakhouse in Southlake, Texas because “my parents won a gift card at a raffle and wanted us to have it”. Of course, no such gift card existed. With the help of family and friends I had set up a proposal site at a nearby park. When I missed the exit for the steakhouse, Ashley was confused. I told her I had a small surprise before dinner, and she didn’t seem to flinch. Thankfully she didn’t notice my hands shaking on the steering wheel, because she was lost in her own world singing along to a Celine Dion song. When we got to the park, I asked her if she trusted me, she trembled and shook but said yes and I walked her down the pathway to the set up. I told her why October 11th is a special day. It’s National Coming Out Day and it’s also the day I came out two years ago. But that I wanted to make it a special day for us as a couple moving forward. She kept saying, “Is this what I think it is? Is this real? Are you sure?” After saying some mushy things and getting on one knee, I asked her to marry me and she said yes! Although she doesn’t remember me getting down on one knee, so I’m glad we have photos! We are so grateful to have found each other, and can't wait to start our life together. And we cannot wait to celebrate our love with all of you on our big day! Thanks for being a part of our story!
