We met at Ashleigh's apartment when some mutual friends of ours decided to have a game night and to meet Finn, who she had adopted earlier that day. During that game night, we both talked about our mutual love for escape rooms. The next day, Robert sent Ashleigh a message on instagram inviting her to go with him and one of their friends to an escape room, but Ashleigh wasn't able to go. If you ask Robert, he will say she turned him down. Fast forward to early 2021, Ashleigh and Robert got reconnected through the same mutual friends and began hanging out often with that friend group. After a weekend trip with that friend group to Universal, Robert reached out to Ashleigh again, but she did not catch the hint. In June, they began texting each other, and that is when things started to change. Robert watched Finn for Ashleigh whenever she would go out of town, so Ashleigh would invite Robert over to hang out with Finn all the time. That was just an excuse to hang out and get to know each other better. Finn made a pretty awesome wingman! In July 2021, Ashleigh decided to shoot her shot and ask Robert if he had ever been interested in her. After a few weeks of hanging out and getting to know each other, Robert & Ashleigh began officially dating.

Robert & Ashleigh knew the moment they started dating that they were going to get married, so a proposal was always anticipated! After months of someone (cough, cough, Ashleigh) being impatient and someone else (cough, cough, Robert) procrastinating, the time for a proposal finally came. One day after Ashleigh got off work, Robert met her at her apartment and suggested dinner and then a sunset walk, which is something they do often. Dinner and a walk happened, but no proposal. After they got back from the walk, Ashleigh went to another room and walked back out to their song playing and noticed Robert's phone set up and videoing. Robert came around the corner, got down on one knee, crying and all, and asked THE question! Ashleigh said yes through all the happy tears!

Ashleigh & Robert will be having a private ceremony with immediate family in Blue Ridge, Georgia.
