HOW WE MET!

12.29.2015

Just a boy and a girl who met in a bar... well the story didn't end there. Charlie invited my girlfriends and I to his New Years Eve party 2 days later. We laughed, drank, fought over the beavers and the ducks (not much has changed), and then I left not thinking I would see him again. That was until a couple days later when I received a text from him after he tracked down my number asking me on a date! I was impressed that he made the effort to search me out, so how could I say no? He took me on our first date to Wild Rose 01.08.16, and here we are 5.5 years later gettin' hitched. Two years of long distance finishing graduate school, 3 months of no distance (thanks, COVID), 2 amazing (yet, psychotic) puppies, and endless love and memories later... we wouldn't change a thing (except for maybe all the dog hair).

THE PROPOSAL

6.21.2020

So it's Fathers Day... We had just gotten back from camping all weekend at Crescent Lake for a friends 30th birthday and were in the midst of unloading the car and getting ready for both of our families to come over to celebrate dad day. All of a sudden I hear Char calling my name, asking me to come help him the garage (a task I am all to familiar with). As I bound around the corner in my sweat shorts with campfire smell in my hair, unshowered for the last 3 days, what do I see? Charles David Ford down on one knee with our dogs Rezo and Kaya (who think he is playing because he is down at their level, so they're going crazy), and a ring in his hand asking me to marry him - FINALLY! Im in shock, but obviously said YES! He gives me the ring which is a beautiful gold band with diamonds from his grandfathers ring. We are naturally freaking out, calling and texting all of our friends and family, yada yada yada. Well Char gets really excited and says, I'm not sure if I am suppose to show you but there is another part to the ring, do you want to see it? Well, obviously! So he shows me the ring, and behold its the engagement ring... So I tell him, I think that's suppose to be the engagement ring and what you proposed with is the wedding band. He is adamantly telling me no. So I am like ok, what do I know? This is my first rodeo at this whole engagement thing. But as it turns out, the second I sent a picture to his mom of the ring, she immediately calls and tells him he gave me the wrong one! Needless to say, he will never live it down (just like wearing the Mariota Jersey).

For all the days along the way
