Dan and Ashleigh have been friends since 2014. They met at a charity football game in Denver and became fast friends. To hear Dan tell it, he saw Ashleigh and thought "I'm going to end up with that girl." Then he felt crazy because they had never met and he was dating someone else at the time. Dan and Ashleigh continued to spend time together exploring Denver and Boulder. Her dog Zoidberg quickly became a fixture in their friendship. They shared many adventures and participated in lots of great charity work. In March 2016 Dan and Ashleigh had a sushi lunch. Ashleigh didn't realize it at the time, but it was totally a date. They remained friends through thick and thin and to this day they continue to have sushi dates. In November 2017 Ashleigh moved away to Reno. Just before she left Ashleigh and Dan took their dogs Rowdy and Zoidberg to a dog park to say goodbye. In that moment they both wanted to share a kiss, but they let it go. As Ashleigh drove away she even made a u-turn to go back to Dan. But it was too late. They remained close, talking on the phone and texting. Dan was always thinking about Ashleigh, and she him.

The year was 2020. Everyone was in some form of lockdown but video chats with friends near and far became common place. One phone call in October changed everything. Dan and Ashleigh were on the phone and lamenting the inability to share a beer over happy hour. When inspiration struck! A video chat. This night was the night they finally confessed their love for one another and started dating. This led to many trips back and forth across the country. Incredible dates, historic hotel stays, and meeting each-other's new friends across the miles.

In September 2021 Dan and Ashleigh packed up his belongings and drove across the country and began their new life in Reno. Rowdy and Zoidberg were reunited once again. Their life fell into place comfortably as their friendship and romance blossomed. They spent their first holidays together and with eachother's families. They continued to share their friendship and the friendship of others. They play trivia regularly and they go to museums and they dress up for costume events. All things that were the foundation of their friendship before the romance.

In February 2022 the couple was on a trip to Monterey. The whole trip Ashleigh was worried about Dan because he was acting weird. Little did she know he was keeping a big secret. One morning they were exploring one of their favorite places, the Monterey Bay Aquarium. It was a very sunny and warm day, which is quite unusual for the area, and Ashleigh was enjoying looking out over the bay. When she turned around Dan was on one knee with the most beautiful ring. She said yes! They continued their Aquarium day and toasted to their new relationship status over an incredible seafood lunch. The pair had not one, but two incredible engagement parties. In Colorado their friends gathered on a beautiful rooftop in May. Ashleigh's two best friends Alix and Frannie were able to make it all the way from TX and NC and they were able to share their love with all of their dear friends and family in CO. In Nevada they hosted a small gathering at their favorite pub with close friends and family. The pair continues to adventure regularly with their two dogs and enjoy traveling when they can.
