Ashlei and Chatrick first connected through a mutual friend on Facebook back in May 2013. At the time, Chatrick was a high school senior and Ashlei was finishing her sophomore year. They met in person for the first time at the Ann Van Middlesworth Park baseball field and soon after had their very first date at the Manville Reading Cinemas. They fell for each other quickly and deeply—so much so that their relationship stayed strong even as life pulled them in different directions. Chatrick headed off to four years of college shortly after they began dating, and later, Ashlei completed three years of undergraduate studies followed by three years of graduate school. Through every new chapter, they grew together. At last, with school behind them and their careers beginning to take shape, they were able to settle into their lives as adults and enjoy the future they’d worked so hard to reach. Then, after eleven years of love, growth, and shared milestones, Chatrick asked the big question on October 5, 2024.
