Lake McDonald
Enjoy Glacier National Park’s Apgar Village and Lake McDonald Valley all year-round! Search for signs of wildlife, discover plants and animals of the park while enjoying the solitude of the winter during this unique experience. Ranger-Led Snowshoe Hikes: Park Rangers will guide you through the Lake McDonald Valley on these two-hour hikes. Snowshoes are available for rent for a nominal fee at the Apgar Visitor Center. Participants should dress for winter conditions and bring water and snacks. Not recommended for Children under the age of 6. Operates: Saturdays and Sundays, 10:30a and 2:00p, from January 8 to March 20
Whitefish Mountain Resort
The Whitefish Mountain Resort offers more than 3000 acres of skiable terrain buried in more than 300 inches of snow. The Whitefish Mountain Resort offers ski and snowboard rentals, lessons, night skiing, and competitions. Also offered are a full-service daycare and a boardwalk full of outfitters and shops. Located just 15 minutes away, free shuttles operate daily from the Lodge.
The Great Northern Brewing Company
Tour the tallest building in Whitefish, a whopping 3 stories tall. Each tour includes a beer! Enjoy great craft beer with great views of the Mountain! The Great Northern Brewing Company offers the finest quality ales and lagers in a variety of year-round and seasonal styles. Through the use of a traditional "Gravity Flow" arrangement, our beers are made in the tradition of artisan brewing with one of the most sophisticated brew houses for its size in the entire country.
Glacier Cyclery & Nordic
If you have not tried this yet, it is a must! Fat bikes have specially designed “fat” tires to cut through snow and for your off road journeys. Bikes can be taken on the Whitefish Trail system or head into Glacier! Daily $45, Weekly $220.
Bar W Guest Ranch
Enjoy the magic of a sleigh, drawn by gentle draft horses, while snuggling up with blankets and loved ones. This trip will take you back to a simpler time…a time to relax and let the beauty that surrounds you soothe your soul. The Cowboys will expertly guide you on this first-hand experience of a magical old fashioned horse-drawn sleigh ride. Chili dinner rides, as well as full campfire dinners available. For times when snow is low, wagons may be used instead of sleighs.
