In the summer of 2012, Lucas stole Ashlee's heart on their last day of working at Camp Jidana when he gave her his Twitter handle. They started dating shortly after that. For the first 5 years of their relationship, they were long distance as Lucas attended St. Cloud State University and Ashlee finished high school and moved on to attend school at the University of Minnesota. After moving back home to Minnetonka, they continued dating while finding jobs, attending graduate school, and figuring out life together. In February of 2021, they got their puppy Jaxon and became dog parents to their giant baby. Eventually, they decided to buy Jaxon a house and moved into their first home in Bloomington. Then, after 9 and a half years, Lucas popped the question. Now, they are finally getting married!!
