He has been my closest confidant, role model, and one of my built-in best friends in life. You don't get to choose your family, but I would choose Luke as my brother every. single. time.

Lisa is like a sister to me :) We've been best friends since middle school youth group and church dance classes. If you want any embarrassing picture or videos, she is your go-to-gal! She is the kindest and most supportive hype-woman I could ask for, and has listen to countless crazy-Ashlee moments. I cant wait to have her stand beside me on this big day!

Luke and I became friends when we met in TDU and talked about an Andy Stanley sermon series. That friendship blossomed into becoming housemates of the Dunkin Bronuts college house we lived in. He is a great listener and friend and shares my fun-loving desire to make every situation exciting. We have shared (along with Matt Smith) many deep conversations over Xbox Live.

I met Janelle my very first day of college. We became fast friends as we searched for a Christian fellowship, talked about Jesus, and walked through life together. She is sweet, thoughtful, and has been a steady accountability partner over the past 8 years. It is such a joy and privilege to have her stand with me!

Austin and I met during our first full week at JMU as we joined the same Small Group through InterVarsity. We became fast friends and lived together for the next three years! From intermural sports, Orientation/Student Ambassadors, and Five Guys bro dates, He became one of my closest friends!

Jennifer is such a gem! I had the privilege of being this girl's roommate for all 4 years years of college! She is spunky and gentle, and an incredible listener. To this day, she is still one of the first people I call when life gets crazy and I need some redirection back to Jesus. I wouldn't dream of walking down the aisle without her up there!

Scott has been one of my closest childhood friends. We share a birthday three days apart and spent many hours saving humanity in Halo and blasting through thousands of hordes of zombies. Late-night sonic runs, high school shenanigans. He is one of my most loyal and faithful friends.

Kate and I met in InterVarsity Christian Fellowship our very first year of college. I immediately thought she was too cool to be my friend. Eight years later, she is one of my best gals! Through years of late night chats in college and a multitude of post-grad phone calls, Kate has been a continual support and encouragement in my life. She is always a breath of fresh air and not to mention my favorite dance partner. You will find her tearing up the dance floor on our wedding night!

Brian was one of my friends lived with in Dunkin Bronuts (college house). We found a shared love for entrepreneurship and self-improvement books. Although the wavy-haired beach bum moved to California, we make sure to keep up every month.

Jenna has easily earned the title of childhood best friend. We met in 4th grade through cheering and our families. We spent countless hours making up dances, singing to the Brittany Spears CD, and performing to our parents (the only audience semi-willing to listen). After years of sleep overs, and hours of watching Rent and Law and Order, we have developed a bond that has stood the test of time :)

Chad has been like a big brother to me since he and Luke (my brother) became close friends at JMU during their years there. From playing and shockingly winning a 3 on 3 CFA basketball tournament, tossing the frisbee around at the park, and shooting BBs inside his house (Sorry Ali!), Chad is always up for fun, challenging Luke and I (mostly beaten me) in anything competitive, and encouraged me to be a better man.

Rach and I met during our last year of college, and lived together for our first two years of post-grad life. She is the sweetest and most gentle spirit, and has been a Hunter fan since day 1. I'm so thankful for her loving encouragement throughout my doctoral program, and the ways she has supported me :)
