When hearing people talk about marrying their best friend, it always struck me as a concept that I didn’t really understand. But then I met Sydney... The first time we met, we made a pretty terrible pickleball duo, but God used some mutual friends to inspire a first date, and then it was off to the races. It took me all of two weeks to start telling family members I wanted to marry her. So far, it has been quite an adventure, from hikes and waterfalls, to games and puzzles, to flat tires and dead car batteries. We have found that our favorite memories are those where a loose wrench wrecks the plans we had, but we worked through it together to make the most of it. Even meeting family and planning a wedding has shown that I could not imagine a better person to build a life with. Over the last two years, I have been learning how Sydney and I make such a wonderful match. While we are similar in many of our attitudes and passions, her kindness, empathy, and faith push me outside of my norms. Her joyful presence brightens every situation. When I share life with her, the highs are higher and the lows are not quite so bad. I truly believe there is not a more endearing human being alive. I am so excited to explore what adventures God has in store for us as we together draw closer to Jesus through our marriage. We plan to spend the next few years in the Lynchburg area as we prepare for the next steps together. I will be working as a flight instructor at Liberty University, acquiring flight hours and experience. Sydney will be working as a behavior technician while pursuing continued education. While in Lynchburg, we will be preparing for what we have been continually called to - global missions. We will collectively use our God-given gifts and developed technical skills to spread the Gospel to unreached people groups at the ends of the earth.
