How We Got Here

2012- We first met in middle school, staying after school together for clubs and theater. Brie had a crush on Kayla since 9th grade, Ms. Ottinger's English class. Kayla wouldn't know until 11th grade.

In high school, we grew much closer through theater! This picture is from our junior year play. We were also in classes together and would constantly talk about Doctor Who.

Kayla went to Kean University, while Brie went to Rutgers for undergrad. Still, they stayed together and would visit each other often.

We moved in together during COVID and renovated our room. Brie's parents are essential workers, and Rory, Brie's nephew, had online school. Kayla and Brie switched off watching him between college classes

We got engaged in central park after the perfect day. Kayla popped the question, and Brie had Kayla's ring in her scrunchie to propose back!

Kayla graduated with a masters in social work while Brie worked as a medical assistant and violence prevention educator. Kayla made college look like a breeze and excelled!

While Kayla worked as a therapist, Brie went to Physician Assistant school. Clinical rotations took her across the globe. Kayla was always by her side to support her. They went to Washington D.C...

... and Chicago...

... and England...

... AND Paris. (We had a picnic at the Eiffel Tower, explored the Louvre, walked through the catacombs, and enjoyed a boat ride on the Seine all in 3 days thanks to Kayla's wonderful planning)

Brie's graduation from her physician assistant masters program! After months of driving Brie to clinical rotations, those two are finally both done school!

Now we are ready for our next adventure! We look forward to celebrating our love with all those we love by ourside!
