Adam & I met in June 2016 through mutual friends at the Austin Ranch pool where our friend, (& now bridesmaid!) Bri lived at the time. Although he claims he immediately knew I was the one for him, it took me just a little longer to see the light! We started hanging out regularly after our annual 4th of July boat party with friends and while I always had a blast with him & he’d occasionally ask me to hang out one on one, it wasnt until later that year in December when it became a little more clear he was into me (& I was starting to feel it too!) On my 30th birthday in December, my siblings & SIL threw my parents and I *THE MOST AMAZING* combined birthday party at our lakehouse, 2.5 hours outside of Dallas. Adam would know only one single person there but he drove all the way there to celebrate with me, my closest friends & family. I immediately noticed he fit right in & MULTIPLE family and friends asked me why I wasn’t dating him that night... I was starting to wonder the same thing myself! After that day, we were basically inseparable; exactly a month after my birthday on Jan 11, 2017 we had our first kiss & the rest is history!
We had been planning a trip to Chicago for months to attend a friend of Adam’s wedding but it never crossed my mind he would propose there! It was the perfect day! We woke up & went to the Planetarium and then hopped on a boat for an architectural tour. We had made reservations to have a few drinks on the 96th floor of the John Hancock tower (my top priority for the trip! I love a good drink with a view!) & when we arrived, we had the best seat in the house with both city and lake views and rose petals all over our table! Adam pretended he wanted to take a picture and proposed then while the server took our (blurry) photos & the crowd cheered in the background! Afterwards, we went to Maple & Mash (soo good!) and they had our table all set with menus congratulating us. It was the best night EVER.
