So, picture this: In the fall of 2019, Preston had recently moved to San Rafael to begin his new job at Safeway Pharmacy as an intern, and Ashley had also recently moved from Ohio to do the same. Their first encounter was at a flu clinic in September 2019. Classic, right? Ashley wasn't exactly wowed by Preston at first, thanks to his boisterous, question-everything kind of vibe. And that, my friends, is where our story kicks off. Unbeknownst to Preston, fate threw a curveball in March 2020 when Ashley had to return to Seoul, Korea. He took a chance and asked Ashley to dinner. Her, having no big expectations, agreed, with just a casual "let's see what happens." Surprisingly, their first date at Santa Rosa Seafood Raw Bar & Grill was pretty dreamy and showed a whole new side of Preston. Fast forward through 9 months of pandemic chaos. In December 2020, Preston traveled to Ohio to visit Ashley while she was visiting her brother. It was during this visit that their connection deepened, and they officially started dating. Oceans and lockdowns couldn't keep them apart. Little did they know that their love story was about to include a furry companion. Meet Hodu, a four-legged friend who would play a pivotal role in their lives. With Ashley's help, Preston adopted Hodu, bringing him all the way from Korea to California in February 2021. Hodu became a symbol of the love and commitment they shared. As the months passed, the couple navigated the challenges of a long-distance relationship until the day Ashley decided to make the ultimate move. In 2022, she packed her bags and made California her new home to be with Preston, bridging the physical gap that had kept them apart for so long. On a chilly December day in 2022, against the backdrop of Baker Beach near the Golden Gate Bridge, Preston gathered his courage and proposed to Ashley, and with a heart full of love, joy, and certainty, she said "Yes!" So here we are, still writing our love story, with a wedding in the works. Preparing for a lifetime of adventures, laughter, and love, 'cause we're just getting started!
