The best part about our story is the fact that we can't actually recall the first time we met. For me, I met Martin in a rushed moment, years ago. We were in Brooklyn and he had come to my office in DUMBO to see the space. A Software Tester himself, he was invited along by our lovely friend Elizabeth who was giving him a taste of the "Hipster Agency Life." It was his first time visiting the better part of New York, but clearly memorable - less the whole meeting me part: talking loudly under bridges, snaps of the Brooklyn Bridge and superior food than that of Manhattan. For Martin, we met in Philadelphia. Another fond occasion with Elizabeth and many of our other testing friends! We had collected at a pre-conference event where Martin popped in, and exclaimed, "I've gotta buy you a drink." I saw him very little after that, however when it was time to go home, he had appeared again. Because it was dark, and the neighborhood unknown, he persuaded all of the people who stayed in the same hotel as him to add an additional stop on their walk, just to make sure I got home okay. Chivalrous man. From there it was work, work, and more work. Newly connected through the TestBash community, and he having taken a new job in New York City, we were in touch! Claiming I was the best person to help him find an apartment, we began to search together. Going out to dinner every night to explore new neighborhoods and sift through apartment listings, Martin was unfamiliar with the Concrete Jungle, and so I was his guide. After a while, we started to get sideways looks from our friends. "Are you two dating". We both claimed "no" as that was far from our intent. However they knew us better than we knew ourselves. We had kept this up for months before the moment we realized we had fallen in love, to which I then promptly moved across the country to work in California. So romantic. But that didn't stop us. Planes, trains and selfies, it's part of the stories we tell. Now here we are!
