Ashby Gap Trailhead Vehicle Access
We love to hike here. When you hit the trail, head off to your right. It's a low grade climb with some downhills mixed in. Be sure to bring strong bug spray and lots of water, though! Virginia is known for mosquitoes and humidity and can be tough on the uninitiated.
Alamo Drafthouse Cinema Winchester
If it's a little too warm for a hike, catch a flick and and food at this dine-in movie theater!
Winchester Brew Works
Our favorite brewery in the area! We will be featuring their beer at the wedding.
Old Bust Head Brewing Company
Our second favorite brewery! We will also be featuring their beer at the wedding.
Old Town Winchester
An adorable little walking mall with quaint shops and tasty restaurants.
Roma Old Town Wood Fired Pizzeria
Our favorite pizza place with a brewery upstairs. So good that Danielle will even eat the pizza without cheese! Don't miss out on the Pizza Beer either! (Not flavored like beer, just brewed to pair perfectly with beer.) Located in Old Town Winchester's walking mall, check out the shops while you're there.
Thai Winchester Restaurant
Danielle's favorite Thai restaurant. Her favorite: Crispy Duck Pad Thai! Also located in Old Town WInchester walking mall, so don't miss the cute shops along the way.
Skyline Caverns
A great thing to do on a hot day! It's always 50 degrees down there, so layer up!
Skyline Drive
Take a drive on the historic Skyline Drive, or branch off onto one of their hiking trails! Be sure to check out the park's entry fees if you don't already have a National Park Service Pass!
Arterra Wines
Down the street from our wedding venue, this winery offers a lovely patio, wide variety of wines, and even walking trails through the forest and winery!
Downriver Canoe Company
The Shenandoah is a beautiful river to kayak, canoe, or tube! We do it at least once a summer!
Bear Chase Brewing Company
We almost chose this for our wedding venue because of the views!
Barrel Oak Winery and Farm Taphouse
Dog friendly, but can get crowded on weekends, so get there early. They have beer and wine to satisfy all tastes. They also have amazing wood fired pizza with gluten free and dairy free options!
