Question

A note on gifts

Answer

Your presence at our wedding is most important to us however, if you do wish to give us something a wishing well will be available on the day

Question

What should I wear?

Answer

The dress code for our wedding is formal/cocktail attire. Traditionally, ladies wear sari, lehenga or formal dresses and the gentlemen wear a suit and tie or Indian suit. Please do not wear red or maroon, as this is the bride's colour.

Question

How long will the ceremony go for?

Answer

The ceremony usually goes for up to 2 hours. During this time, the bride and groom participate in several religious rituals.

Question

What kind of food and drinks will be served?

Answer

The Hindu wedding is a religious event. Our wedding food and beverage menu will be vegetarian and non-alcoholic. We have curated a Western-Indian inspired sit-down menu which we are sure all our guests will enjoy!

Question

What happens after the ceremony?

Answer

After the ceremony, the bridal party will be taking pictures nearby for around an hour. Guests can head to the dining and beverage area where we will be serving finger foods and non-alcoholic beverages.

Question

What time should I arrive?

Answer

We recommend that you arrive an hour before the start of the ceremony, to make sure everyone is on time and the guests are seated. The grooms parade will begin around 1.30pm, with the ceremony starting at 2.00pm.

Question

Can I take and post pictures of the wedding on social media?

Answer

Yes, we encourage guests to post pictures on to their social media channels, our only request is that you tag each photo with our wedding hashtag #tothechandandback so we can keep track of all of your pictures!

Question

What does your hashtag mean?

Answer

Our hashtag is an interesting play on words: #tothechandandback We wanted to use a phrase that was romantic to both of us i.e. "to the moon and back" and we substituted the English word "moon" for the Sanskrit word for moon which is "chand." Chand also is Ash's surname so a win-win situation really!
