"He Digs"

Her Side of the Story

Mason and I first met when we were freshman at UW- Stout living on the 4th floor of HKMC! We were friends with lots of the same people on our floor and inevitably ended up hanging out. While I was starting to catch major feelings for Mas, he seemed to only think of me as “one of the guys”. Mason did not seem to be the type to catch on to any subtle hints I was dropping… like sitting next to him when our friend group would be hanging out, planning to go to dinner at the same time as he did (even though all of my friends had gone prior), and walking the long way out of the dorm building to go past his room in hopes that I would get to say hi. I guess you could say I was smitten and this guy was OBLIVIOUS! Mason continued to not pick up on a single hint I had dropped toward him, but everyone else on the floor did! One night a couple of us were all hanging out in the lounge without Mason. We were all talking about how Mason was definitely NOT aware of my flirting and he would NOT be making any moves anytime soon. So the boys decided to take matters into their own hands and just go ask him what he thought of me (very middle school, I know). A few boys marched into the bathroom (where Mason was brushing his teeth) and asked him what he thought of me. After what felt like forever, two of the boys came back out and said “He Digs!”

The Broken Table

His Side of the Story

Now that my feelings have been exposed to everyone, including Asha, I started to become more aware of the moves she was putting on me. The first time us two hung out alone together was when I was in my dorm room trying to fix the leg of my coffee table. Asha must have thought that she could have been of help to fixing it, because it did not take her long to stroll into my room and offer her help. While Asha wasn't much help at fixing the broken table, she did make for good company. That same day, Asha got to meet my brother Alec when we stopped by his classroom to pick up some tools and screws. On our way out, Alec called me back and just by raising his eyebrows a few time, asked me if I was going to ask Asha out on a date. Without saying a word, I gave him a wink and walked away.

The Proposal

Mason and I love to play games…board games, card games, yard games, you name it we have probably played it! So naturally Mason decided to propose during a round of “Egyptian Rat Race”!
