Asha was a freshman cheering for North Farmington High School's Varsity Cheer Team when she met Daniel (D-Davis), who was playing football at the time. After a cold fall game, they were introduced by a mutual friend, but it wasn't until track season in that same school year that they became friends. Throughout the following years, they kept in touch through social media, often bonding over the MSU and U of M rivalry. Daniel is a die-hard - some call crazy - Wolverine fan, while Asha bleeds green and white. The two would come together one day when Asha was home visiting from MSU. Daniel saw her walking in church that Sunday and said, "Dang, she fine," and messaged her on Snapchat. The day after, they went to Buffalo Wild Wings and talked for hours. Neither wanted the night to end, so they went and saw a movie. Little did they know that this would be the beginning of their bond over movies. Since that day, Asha and Daniel have been inseparable. Neither can remember a single day since then that they haven't talked. They both have found their true love, best friend, and confidante in each other. After 5 incredible years, they are eager to embark on this journey of marriage. <3
Early in the week, Daniel told Asha, "Be ready at 7 on Friday, I'm taking you out." Asha's closest friends and family already knew and were throwing subliminal hints throughout the week. Asha was encouraged to get her hair and nails done and to wear a beautiful dress. That day, Daniel surprised Asha with a bouquet of roses and took her to the Rattlesnake Club in Detroit, a restaurant that is dear to Asha's heart. They had dinner and talked about their future and enjoyed the night (even with Daniel's noticeable nerves). After dinner, they took a stroll on their favorite part of the Detroit Riverwalk. It was a beautiful, clear, spring evening. As they made their way down the Riverwalk, Asha spotted her niece and knew something was up! Out of the blue, her closest loved ones popped up. When she turned around, Daniel grabbed her hand and went down on one knee - and asked for her hand in marriage. Asha shouted "YES!" and cried tears of joy. It was the happiest moment of their lives! See you in May!
