Selam was having a night out with several friends. Aaron was flying solo, sipping on a Moscow mule. She stepped out for some fresh air and Aaron directed her to the chair next to him. A few hours later Aaron was much more informed on the history of Eritrea. Selam mentioned where she worked and Aaron said "...small world! I almost accepted a job there shortly after the company started." Aaron dropped all of the names he could remember from those days, many of whom were Selam's friends. They discovered they had a mutual LOVE of reggae music and it felt like destiny. Selam's story is that Aaron stood her up (actually cancelled last minute) on their first date. So when on their actual first date Aaron told the waiter he was getting the check because she says he stood her up on their first date, Selam… Well there was a second date, though Selam still reminds him of that moment. After a brief romance, they parted. But true love finds its way. Just over three years later, Aaron reached out to Selam, all the stars aligned and they found love again. About a year and half later, Aaron planned a special picnic to commemorate the sixth anniversary of when they met and popped the question.
