Ascher and Emily met at a Fourth of July party at a congregation member's house. Emily had just moved to Rapid City the day before because she was assigned to teach Kindergarten at St. Paul's Lutheran School. Their parents were at this party too, so they also met each other. Months go by and the school year starts. One Sunday in late October, they were getting in line to get their bibles and snacks for bible class. Ascher turned to Emily and asked her if she would want to go to the Rapid City Rush hockey game with him on Friday. She said yes. The day after the hockey game, they took a walk at Canyon Lake Park. Ascher asked Emily to go on another date to Murphy's Pub and Grill the next weekend. They went to Murphy's Pub and Grill, walked downtown, and then drove to Skyline Drive where they overlooked Rapid City at night. There Ascher asked Emily to be his girlfriend. One year later in the same place after dancing to one of their favorite songs, Ascher asked Emily to marry him. Emily said yes! They are excited to celebrate their love for each other on their special day surrounded by all the people they love. They can't wait to spend the rest of their lives together.
