Khody and Aryssara first met at his college graduation party in 2018. Aryssara was not invited to this party, nor had they ever heard of each other before this night. Aryssara was a drag-along guest but will be forever in debt to Nicole Baca for making her attend. Khody and Aryssara’s interactions at the party went no further than introductions, however fate brought them together the next day when they met again at Nicole’s house. If Nicole hadn’t left her phone at Khody’s party and if Aryssara didn’t leave her car at Nicole’s house, who knows how long it would have taken for them to find each other again. The group then decided to go out for lunch at Northwood’s Inn, where Khody and Aryssara found a connection in their mutual love for Lord of the Rings. Before they parted ways, Aryssara and Khody agreed to have a movie marathon sometime in the future, exchanged numbers, and the rest is history. They have been inseparable ever since.

Khody asked Aryssara’s parents for their blessing in February 2020 but with the onset of the global pandemic and Aryssara’s 7-day work week, he had difficulty finding the right time to pop the question. Finally, in the beginning of October he set his plan in motion. He bought the ring and recruited the help of her sister, Layla, to make sure everything was perfect. Khody called Aryssara’s manager to ask her to make an excuse and ensure Aryssara would have the day off on October 24th. Aryssara happily accepted the day off without question and wondered how she would spend the day with Khody (after all, he happened to have the same day off). That’s when she remembered that Layla had been asking for the past few weeks to go to a pumpkin patch with her roommate Melissa so they can pick out pumpkins to carve and so Melissa can take holiday pictures for them. She called Layla and Khody and on October 24th, all four of them drove to Live Oak Canyon Pumpkin Patch. They found a sunflower garden and Melissa started taking pictures of everyone. Near the end of Aryssara and Khody’s shoot, Melissa asked Khody to stand behind Aryssara and pretend to pick a flower. Aryssara thought that this was a strange pose so she turned around to see what Khody was doing. She caught him on one knee, seemingly messing with his shoe. Still clueless, she watched him raise his palm up and thought to herself “Why is he pretending to propose to me when she said to pick a flower?” Upon seeing Khody’s giant smile and the ring that was in his hand, Aryssara finally realized what was happening. Khody proposed, Aryssara said yes after exclaiming “WHAT THE F*CK?”, and here we are!
