Arys and Daniel met in the summer of 2012 at their freshman year orientation at Sacramento State University. When they first saw each other, they both instantly knew that it was FRIENDSHIP at first sight. During their first year of college, Arys and Daniel both lived in neighboring dorms so they were able to develop a close friendship where they bonded over silly nicknames, inside jokes, watching movies and mutually annoying each other (don’t let Daniel convince you otherwise). Throughout their friendship, they both worked together in the Residence Halls at Sacramento State, survived a long-distance friendship while Daniel studied abroad in Spain for a year, and got to watch each other learn and grow into the people they are today, never once growing apart. In 2021, after 9 years of friendship, the stars finally aligned and the two best friends stopped being in denial about their feelings for each other and began to officially date. Daniel wanted to share his passion for traveling with Arys and in August 2023, Daniel took Arys on her dream trip to Paris! It was during this trip that Daniel surprised Arys at the top of Montmartre by getting down on one knee and proposing. To nobody's surprise, Arys said yes. Arys and Daniel are excited to get married, travel the world together and see what else this world has in store for them.
