For those of you who don't know our story well, I will repeat myself a million times over, for it is my favorite love story. Our mothers, Margie and Stacie were best friends, as the kids of these best friends, we spent many summer days, daycare and holidays together as a unit, year after year. As 4 and 6 years old turned into 12 and 14, boys became "cute" and girls had cooties, and we all became too aware of ourselves and those around us and the times "to just be kids" became less and less cherished and well...we drifted. Soon we were living fast paced parallel lives walking the same halls of highschool and sneaking glances at the same backwoods parties but never fully colliding. The paths we took brought us farther away, to different friends, through different trials and tribulations that shaped us into the individuals we then found again, 10 years later. Those backwoods glances became undeniable interest and daring smiles in the gym until finally, two very guarded hearts said one more......."fuck it". "Do you remember me from when we were kids?", I asked the boy, now a man, in front of me, "I could never forget", he said. And that was it, memories were shared, life stories were spilled, passions became brighter and pain became lighter, two lives became one, two hearts mended together-forever and always <3
