Matt and Katie's story begins in 2017, she was an artist working in advertising on Madison Avenue, and he had begun his career in tax at Pricewaterhouse Coopers. Like many modern relationships, their love story began with a connection on a dating app. On their first date, Matt was in a rush and walked right past Katie waiting for him outside. Not a great start... As Katie fired off her questions (sports or video games, dietary restrictions, favorite movies), Matt wondered how the date/interview was going. He definitely liked her confidence and that she seemed to know what she wanted. As the date wound down and Matt was about to drop Katie off at the subway, he leaned in for a kiss. It was a brief, but unforgettable moment before she turned around, said goodbye, and walked away. At that moment Matt decided, that went well and I can't wait to see her again. Over the last 8 years, their love has grown as they've moved, changed jobs, gone on incredible trips together, adopted a rescue dog, visited families, and bought a house. Through each moment, high and low, they relied on the love that began on that spring night in Manhattan. They were engaged and ready to tie the knot in 2020 and nearly signed a contract with a venue, when the world decided it had other plans.
