FAQs

Question

Where to stay?

Answer

There are rental cottages all around the pond. The best bet is to search Pulaski or Sandy Creek and look for places close to North or South Pond. Air B&B and VRBO are generally the best source

Question

How to get to Deane Camp

Answer

Hike or Boat...you're choice! It's roughly a 1 mile hike to camp from the parking lot. We've arranged for the Marina owner, Dave, to boat folks to the dock at the cottage. It's about a 10 minute boat ride. Let us know if you'll be needing a ride and we'll help coordinate.

Question

What's the plan if weather doesn't cooperate?

Answer

We're saving the 31st as a backup date in case the weather is crummy. Hopefully we'll have a great beach day and a fabulous sunset. If the weather outlook is particularly bad, we'll communicate with everyone on any changes to our plans for the weekend.

Question

What to wear?

Answer

Whatever you like! Sandy Ponds is a casual place. If you're not barefoot you're probably overdressed. Jess will be in a traditional wedding dress (probably the only traditional thing about this wedding) and Arran will be a bit more casual. A dip in the lake is almost certain to happen at some point, so bring your suits if you want to swim.

Question

Do I need to bring anything?

Answer

We've got food, drinks and entertainment covered. Seating is somewhat limited so feel free to bring a beach towel and/or chair to help make more seating if you'd like.

Question

Should I bring the kids?

Answer

Absolutely! This is a family affair

For all the days along the way
