A Roberts' Romance

Andrew and Candace’s story began at the University of Georgia, where they somehow managed to orbit the same social circles without actually meeting for quite a while. Despite sharing mutual friends, it wasn’t until Andrew started coming over with Candace’s roommates that the two finally started hanging out. From the start, Candace thought Andrew was a total goofball—charming in the way only someone who fully embraces their goofy side can be. Andrew, on the other hand, was immediately captivated by Candace’s beautiful, infectious smile—the kind that lights up a room and makes you forget what you were saying mid-sentence. Now, if you ask Andrew, he’ll proudly claim that their first date was a romantic trip to... Teriyaki 101, a local wing spot. Candace quickly corrected him: “That wasn’t a date.” The real first date came later—at the Yayoi Kusama Infinity Mirrors exhibit at the High Museum of Art. Surrounded by glowing lights and immersive art, they shared laughs, deep conversation, and maybe even a little bit of awkward hand-holding. In the summer of 2019, Candace spent several months in Seattle, and Andrew flew out to visit. Between the city walks and oyster bars, they made special memories that sealed the deal. That summer, they both knew—this was love. Fast forward to November 2, 2024: Andrew popped the question surrounded by immediate family and close friends (and yes, he managed to keep it a surprise!). These days, their life together is filled with reality TV marathons, plenty of dog cuddles, and time spent with their favorite people. Whether it’s an adventure across the country or a quiet night on the couch, Andrew and Candace have learned that love often grows in the little moments—usually somewhere between an episode of Real Housewives of Atlanta and a walk with Nash.
