Social media has its "ups" and "downs". In the spring of 2018, I accepted a friend request from a guy that I never met. After his friend request, we began to communicate. We messaged back and forth. We exchanged phone numbers, texts and made arrangements to meet in person. There, our lives connected. We did not build a relationship immediately. But, I knew there was something special about him. He revealed to me that he felt the same way. We missed each other when we did not talk. I knew things were right when we both connected to each other's families and were highly accepted. So, we both know that even on Facebook, love conquers all.
On Christmas Day we were at my mom's house for a good 'old fashion' Christmas morning breakfast. After breakfast, we decided to open Christmas gifts. I watched as everyone was filled with excitement as they tore open their gifts. Then, it was my turn. I opened all of my gifts. But, of course, I saved my honey's gift for last. And to the utmost surprise, I opened it and there was a portrait of the two of us together. As I looked further down at the picture, I noticed a question that asked, " Will You Marry Me? Yes or No?" Immediately, I shouted yes. Then, there popped a gorgeous engagement ring. There were tears everywhere, from everybody. Later on, we went to his mom's house and celebrated again. We were blessed by both families. It was so AWESOME!!! This is a day I will never forget for the rest of my life.
