Wedding Party

We are pleased to introduce the family and friends who are helping make this day possible

Rebecca Obenhaus

Mother of the Bride

Although not entirely traditional, Emily requested that her mother walk her down the aisle.

Stacy Obenhaus

Officiant + Father of the Bride

Emily's father will be officiating the ceremony. Having been the most influential person in Emily's spiritual life and loving Gordon since the day they met, it only seemed appropriate that this be so.

Nancy Armstrong

Mother of the Groom

Nancy will be escorted by her son.

Jeffery Armstrong 1951-2016

Father of the Groom

While Jeff is not with us in person today, we know he is with us in spirit.

Rachel Obenhaus

Maid of Honor

Meet Emily's darling little sister! She is in the middle of her first semester of her senior year of college at Mizzou, where she studies International Studies, Art, and French. Emily is so proud of the beautiful person Rachel has become, and is honored to have Rachel stand with her at the alter.

Ben Hackett

Best Man

Gordon and Ben met their freshman year at the University of Maine at Orono taking the same engineering classes. They quickly became close friends and chartered their fraternity, Pi Kappa Phi, together with a few other engineering buddies. After college, they roomed together and eventually built a ski camp together up at Sugarloaf Mountain in Kingfield, ME. Ben's fiancé, Riley Dow, is also in Emily's bridal party... so with their fiancés being best friends, Ben and Gordon are pretty much stuck together for life.

Kathryn Turansky

Matron of Honor

Kathryn says she knew Emily would fit in right when she saw how Emily could "smash trees" with her on Hupper Island. Being the oldest child herself, Emily always wondered what having an older sister would be like (contrary to her own little sister Rachel joking "it's the worst!"). Well, now she has one and she can definitely say that it's actually the best.

Thomas Turansky

Groomsman

Thomas is Gordon's brother-in-law, but he has become more than that to Gordon over the years. Thomas and Gordon have no issues talking about boats, wood, hunting, or other obscure topics for hours on end. Gordon loves spending time with his favorite (and only) nephew, Andrew, son of Thomas and Kathryn... and Andrew thinks Uncle Gordon is the second coolest dude on the planet, right behind his old man of course.

Lexi Mansfield

Bridesmaid

Lexi has been many things to Emily over the years - a colleague, a cousin, and a friend. She is technically Gordon and Kathryn's cousin, but we all consider her a sister. Emily considers herself incredibly fortunate to now have two older "sisters" in law.

Jason Mansfield

Groomsman

Jason is technically Gordon's cousin-in-law, but since Gordon's cousin Lexi is more like a sister than a cousin, Gordon considers Jason more of a brother-in-law. When all the brother-in-laws get together, it's always a good time!

Riley Dow

Bridesmaid

Emily met Riley through Gordon, as Riley was dating (and is newly engaged to!) Gordon's best friend (and best man) Ben. It was all a disgustingly perfect happenstance - we know. While Riley admittedly forced her and Emily's friendship into happening (considering they would always be around each other so long as Ben and Gordon were best friends), she never expected that she and Emily would actually turn out to be best friends as well. Riley and Maggie are Emily's Maine people - pun intended - and Emily wouldn't have it any other way.

Ted Armstrong

Groomsman

Ted and Gordon are cousins, and they actually enjoy each other’s company! Ted recently moved to Portland, ME and just finished building a summer home with his family in Friendship, ME. When Ted and Gordon aren’t playing a round of nine holes, you can find them checking out the newest hangouts around Portland together.

Brinkley Field

Bridesmaid

Brinkley is like a sister to Emily - they have known each other since they were 7! They grew up together, attended the same schools, traveled the world together, and were even college roommates. While they are polar opposites in many ways, Brinkley has always been (and always will be) one of Emily's closest friends.

Taylor Hall

Groomsman

Gordon and Taylor grew up in towns right next to each other, but they didn't get to know each other until they roomed together in college! In the same engineering program at UMaine Orono, Taylor joined Gordon, Ben, and Connor in chartering their fraternity. After college, Taylor moved down to Boston for a few years, but he and Gordon never lost touch. Thankfully, Taylor and his (brand new!) wife, also named Taylor, moved back to the Portland, ME area in 2020!

Maggie Chaplin

Bridesmaid

Emily met Maggie through Riley, who also forced this friendship to happen (for which they are so thankful!). Maggie and Emily became close after living together for two years, and now she is one of Emily's favorite humans on this planet. Maggie, Riley, and Emily are now inseparable, and Emily is beyond lucky to call them her best friends.

Connor Logan

Groomsman

Gordon and Connor met at UMaine freshman year as hall-mates. They both studied engineering, and along with Ben and Taylor all joined the same fraternity. They became close friends, living together their sophomore through their senior years. Gordon and Connor enjoy hunting, skiing, and drinking low quality beer together.

Annemarie Sullivan

Bridesmaid

Already sorority sisters, Annemarie and Emily became especially close in one of their Spanish classes while attending The University of Texas. Emily will never forget the day when they were on a "duck boat," pregaming for the weekend's Greek Life (Roundup) festivities, and flipping through their Spanish vocabulary notecards right before they took their final exam - directly after the pregame. Get yourself a girl that can do both, am I right? (They both aced their finals and happily rejoined the party immediately after.)

Nate Boggs

Groomsman

Nate and Gordon met after their respective schools consolidated into one large program during their sophomore year of high school. They became fast friends while playing on the same soccer and tennis teams, and even remained close throughout college, spending summers and weekends together when they came home. An architect by trade, Nate joined engineers Ben and Gordon in designing and building their ski camp located in Kingfield, ME, making winters a lot more fun for us all!

Jeannette Baltutat

Bridesmaid

Emily and Jeannette technically met through pledging the same sorority at UT, but their friendship only grew stronger when they both found themselves living in Dallas after graduation. In Dallas, Jeannette always made a point to get their friends together for dinners, drinks, Bachelorette premiers, etc... and for that Emily will always love and admire her. And, as a result, she is one of those people who thankfully Emily will never lose touch with!

Cy McGeady

Groomsman

Gordon met Cy in middle school when Cy moved up to Maine from Maryland. They became close in high school, spending practically every day of their summers together as Cy was hired by Jeff's Marine (Gordon's family business located in Thomaston) and worked there for four years. After a brief stint in New York City, Cy surprised everyone by moving to Portland, ME. Emily and Gordon hope he stays!
