Things To Do

We love Asheville and all it has to offer! These are just a few of our favorite places. Please note that a lot of the Asheville area was recently devastated by Hurricane Helene and is still working to rebuild. Please make sure to check the websites or social media pages of the recommendations below to make sure they are open.

The Biltmore Estate

One Lodge Street, Asheville, NC 28803

The Biltmore Estate is a beautiful place to visit and bring the whole family. They offer tours of the mansion, beautiful grounds with multiple gardens and greenhouses, a winery, and more. It’s the background of all of our engagement photos you see scattered throughout our website!

Blue Ridge Parkway

3884 Blue Ridge Parkway, Asheville, NC 28803

The Blue Ridge Parkway is a must do excursion while in the Asheville area. You can drive for miles and take in the amazing scenery of the blue ridge mountains. There’s plenty of pull offs for great photos or even a picnic. Along the parkway there are plenty of hiking options (short and long) with waterfalls, mountain views and more. There are a few visitors centers along the way that you can stop at for more information from park rangers. Make sure to check the nps website for any closures along the parkway (linked here). The area is prone to down trees and sections may be closed off for safety.

Craggy Gardens Visitor Center

364 Blue Ridge Parkway, Black Mountain, NC 28711

Craggy Gardens offers beautiful scenery and hikes with great views of the blue ridge mountains. We recommend the Craggy Pinnacle Trail and the Craggy Gardens Trail if you’d like to take a short hike. Tennis shoes are recommended if you choose to hike as the trails can get muddy in spots.

Burial Beer Co. South Slope Taproom

40 Collier Avenue, Asheville, NC 28801

This is our favorite brewery in Asheville! It offers a great selection of all kinds of beer but we recommend trying one of their barrel aged stouts or sours. They also have recently opened a cocktail bar connected to the brewery if you’re not a beer person. Located in the south slope area of Asheville there’s a ton of other bars and breweries in walking distance as well.

Good Hot Fish

10 Buxton Avenue, Asheville, NC 28801

Right next door to our favorite brewery is one of our new favorite restaurants! Good hot fish has amazing fish sandwiches, fish platters and more. Stop by before or after grabbing a beer from Burial!

Other Brewery Recommendations

If you’re like us and one brewery just isn’t enough - here’s some additional breweries we love in Asheville! Wicked Weed Brewing - the Funkatorium location is our favorite! They have a great patio and good food. Sierra Nevada Taproom - an absolutely stunning location with great food. They often have live music and have a free self guided brewery tour. White Labs Brewing Co. - known for their IPAs DSSOLVR - downtown, known for their IPAs Highland Brewing - downtown

Rocky's Hot Chicken Shack

1455 Patton Avenue, Asheville, NC 28806

Rocky’s is one of our local favs! Stop by for a quick lunch but be ready to wait in line for a bit during peak hours. There are two locations in Asheville (both great) so you can pick whatever is closest to you!
