a day to remember

It was the summer of 2022. In the heart of Athens, Pat Doherty wandered into venue for Martha and Jeff Boggs' wedding celebration. It was as the sun set over the cliffs of Greece that Pat spotted a stunning blond in a blue gown the same shade as the crystal-clear water, radiating with life and beauty. Without a moment's hesitation, he made his way towards Cassie Armin, intent on getting to know the most enchanting woman in the room. (Okay, so that's not the full story. Before the wedding, Cassie was hanging out with her friend Martha and looking at her then-fiancee Jeff's Snapchat when the girls spotted Pat in the background of a video. The ladies did what we do best and got to work researching Pat, finding out if he was single and interested in chatting with an educated, kind, and generous blond bombshell. After confirming he was single and not an idiot, phone numbers were exchanged and text conversations began. But we'll stick with the Hallmark version for this retelling. Also, shout-out to Martha and Jeff Boggs, the real MVPs of this love story). The next few days were made for the movies as Cassie and Pat explored Athens together and had their first official date at a cute seafood spot in the neighborhood of Plaka, Athens. They ended up being each other’s "unofficial" date to Martha and Jeff’s wedding. Thankfully, this romance was made for every time and place. Once they returned home from their whirlwind of a first date, the couple grew to know and love one another (and their combined cats) in their hometown of Chicago. On the Tuesday before Thanksgiving this past year, Pat planned a full day of surprises for Cassie to "give them some one-on-one time" before the big family weekend. After spending the morning hiking and the afternoon at the spa, Pat surprised Cassie with a fully-packed bag to get dressed for a fancy dinner to end their day together. On the way to dinner, Pat suggested the couple grab drinks at the Botanical Gardens in Scottsdale, AZ and enjoy the beautiful landscape. As the sun began to set over Camelback Mountain, Patrick got down on his knee and asked Cassandra if she would marry him and share her life with him. Cassie said yes and the rest is history. (Pat had one last trick up his sleeve, of course. Rather than an intimate dinner date, Cassie was surprised with a celebratory dinner including both families. It was the perfect way to end this perfect day that Pat had crafted for his bride-to-be). We're taking our love across the ocean once again and tying the knot on the stunning shores of southeastern Ireland at the Waterford Castle in Waterford, IE. We can't wait to celebrate May 27th with all of you and establish this date as our "forever anniversary.”
