On June 27th, 2021 we met at the Indian Creek Greenbelt in Kuna, ID. We got connected through the great social webs of the internet and we really treated our connection as a blind match. So, when we met we only knew each other's names. Jocelyn first noticed Armin's smile and Armin first noticed Jocelyn's hair. We took a walk on that hot summer evening along the river. Conversation was flowing and we talked for hours. Needless to say we hit it off and our love only grew week after week, and day by day.

We decided in August 2021 on a date night full of basketball and a good homecooked meal that we needed to get away before the end of summer. Jocelyn was thinking it would be great to spend a weekend together somewhere like McCall, ID. Armin was all for the idea of going on vacation, but he had bigger plans in store. Armin proposed that he would be able to take a week off from work and that a road trip would be awesome. Jocelyn didn't hesitate and loved the idea. Shortly after this decision, Jocelyn passed a licensing exam and that evening they planned the road trip that would take place just 3 days later. We drove from Boise to Salt Lake City, UT to Zion National Park (where Armin saved Jocelyn and they both overlooked the most beautiful view at the top of the hike) to the Grand Canyon to Phoenix, AZ to Albuquerque, NM to Denver, CO driving through WY back to Boise, ID. We got to explore so many amazing areas each day, witness incredible scenery and got to know each other in a remarkable way. At the end of the trip, we knew there was something great between us.

There are two stories to how Armin proposed. Armin went shopping for weeks to find the right ring that he knew Jocelyn would love-sparkly and a radiant/oval shape. When he finally found the glass slipper of engagement rings, he waited for the right moment to propose. Armin and Jocelyn had known they wanted to be married and that they wanted to have a wedding in 2022. The right moment came when Armin took Jocelyn on a hike and planned to propose at the mountain top. Unfortunately, there were some complications when they were greeted by a grizzly bear. Armin thankfully came prepared with more than the ring. He fought for their lives and overcame the danger among them. When the crisis had adverted, Armin proposed just as he planned with Jocelyn in tears and jumping with a joyful "YES! I will marry you!" Now the other version of the proposal is that Jocelyn and Armin had started to plan times in the week to intentionally connect spiritually and emotionally. Wholistic growth has always been a priority for them. As they started to wrap up the check-in time with each other, Armin excused himself and returned quickly with a big smile on his face. He asked Jocelyn to stay seated on the couch, got down on one knee and with her hands in his, he proclaimed his love for her and desire for a marriage that together would bring glory to God. After Jocelyn in tears had stated joyfully "YES! I will marry you!", he placed the ring on her finger. Armin had asked her thoughts about the ring, and she could only respond with "It feels beautiful" but her eyes were so filled with joyful tears that she couldn't see the ring. They both laughed and celebrated for they were officially engaged! As far as which version is true, you decide. We've told it both ways! haha!
