We met on a dating website called Hinge. It uses Facebook to match people based on friends of friends. At the time we matched, the app did not list any friends in common between us, but connected us anyway. After a week of talking on the app, we decided to go on our first date at a small restaurant in the East Village in Manhattan. Between two entrees and one dessert, we discussed our faith, work experience, education, hobbies/extracurricular activities, our shared interest in playing the bass guitar, social justice issues, and credit scores. By the time we parted ways and went home, we had no idea our date lasted six hours! Our time together was so magical and there was never a dull moment. From that point, we knew this would be something great.
A year after we met, we went to the waterfront in Jersey City, NJ to meet up with friends for brunch and attend an art show. We were running late that morning and I quickly became "hangry". Armando reassured me that everything was fine and it was not that serious we were late. This is odd behavior because Armando is the one that needs to be on time to everything. In any event, I tried not to focus on the fact that my stomach was screaming for food. When we arrived, I did not see our friends and became worried that they decided to eat without us. As I walked closer to the waterfront, I noticed purple and gold balloons shaped in a ring to my right. I turned around to see Armando was down on one knee with the ring in his hand. I screamed "YES" and we were engaged! Then when we arrived at brunch my family and his were there to surprise me and congratulate us. To this day, I cannot stop smiling about our engagement. We're so excited to celebrate this next chapter in our lives with you! See you at the Estate!
