The beautiful couple met while working at On The Border in 2010. After Elena executed a poorly planned scavenger hunt in hopes of wooing Armando, they spent months getting to know each other. Armando then took Elena on a memorable date to Mesa Grill (the restaurant founded by renowned chef and TV personality Robert William Flay) and said something along the lines of "I was thinking it's about time we make this Facebook official". Since then they have grown together, learned together, and spent an embarrassing amount of time substituting actual song lyrics with cat related ones. They got married on November 21st, 2019 in a secret ceremony officiated by Bergen County Clerk, John S. Hogan. In attendance was Elena's mother and Armando's grandpa - who got into big trouble with his grandma for keeping the whole thing a secret. The couple kicked off their honeymoon weekend immediately after, dropping off their respective family members before driving to romantic Boonsboro, Maryland. There, they spent the weekend (at least Saturday anyway) in the backwoods of central Maryland; while Armando ran over the river and through the woods, Elena followed him with sustenance, hydration, fresh underwear, and Squirrel's Nut Butter in case his thighs started chafing. They celebrated with sandwiches from Primanti Brothers. And they wouldn't have it any other way.
