Flight
Flying into Lisbon (LIS) is your best bet—Palmela is about 45 minutes away by car, and you can easily get there by Bolt, Uber, taxi, or rental car. Our first event kicks off on the evening of October 5th, so we recommend arriving in the Palmela area by early afternoon to check into your hotel and relax before the celebrations begin. For the best flight deals, we suggest booking through Google Flights, Skyscanner, or Hopper as soon as possible. We wanted to give everyone a little breathing room between events (Oct 6) to relax, explore, and make the most of being in this beautiful part of Portugal. Whether you’re looking for adventure, a glass of wine, or just some downtime, here are a few ideas for your free day: 🌿 Sip & Savor – Palmela is wine country! A tasting at a local vineyard (like Quinta do Piloto or José Maria da Fonseca) is a perfect way to spend the afternoon. Tastings typically cost €15–25 per person and can be reached in under 10 minutes by taxi. 🏰 Castle Strolls – Palmela Castle is right outside our venue. The views stretch from the mountains to the sea — definitely worth a wander and some photos. Entry is free, and it’s an easy 5–10 minute walk. 🏖️ Beach Escape – If you’re craving the ocean, the Arrábida beaches (Portinho da Arrábida or Praia da Figueirinha) are just 20–30 minutes by taxi from Palmela (~€20–30 each way). The water is turquoise and calm - bring a towel and make it a lazy day. 🚤 Setúbal Adventures – Hop into nearby Setúbal (10–15 minutes by taxi, ~€10–15). Enjoy fresh seafood (don’t miss choco frito — fried cuttlefish), stroll the streets, or take a dolphin-spotting boat trip (usually €30–40 per person for 2–3 hours). 🌳 Nature Break – Arrábida Natural Park has gorgeous trails with dramatic sea views. Many trailheads are 20–30 minutes away by car/taxi (~€20–30 each way). Great for a short hike or just a scenic walk. ✨ Slow & Simple – And of course, no pressure to do anything at all. A long lunch, a glass of wine, or just soaking in the views from the hotel terrace sounds just as perfect to us.
