Arlene and Kris met at work over the summer of 2015. Initially, Arlene thought she wanted to become a social worker so she found an internship in South Los Angeles. Kris worked at the same place and when he first saw Arlene he noticed her beautiful spirit and found excuses to talk to her throughout the day. During this time, Kris and Arlene would spend hours exchanging stories about their individual adventures while in the office. One day Kris shared that he had recently read an article about an app that listed all of the best taco places in Los Angeles. Kris the true taco cansour eventually, invited Arlene on this taco adventure but initially Arlene rejected his offer. Arlene went back and forth about accepting Kris’ offer. She eventually spoke with a wise co-worker and this wise co-worker encouraged Arlene to go out with Kris and said, “go for it mija” so “mija” decided to go for it. Arlene later accepted Kris’ offer and they both set out on their taco adventure. After consulting with one of his best friend’s and his wife on the best tacos on the list, Kris decided to take Arlene to Chica’s tacos in Downtown Los Angeles. Kris and Arlene shared their favorite meal in downtown Los Angeles and spent the entire night wandering around the city talking, dancing, and playing PacMan against each other. Kris spent the night reflecting on how he had such an amazing night with such a beautiful soul. Kris knew that there was something special about Arlene and he hoped to hangout with her again as the night concluded, Kris invited Arlene on another adventure and their adventures continued full of memories, becoming roommates, living across the country from each other, surviving a pandemic, raising two doggos, becoming soul mates, and planning a life together full of future adventures.
