Both the ceremony and reception will take place at the Inn at Mountain View Farm. The address is: 3383 Darling Hill Rd East Burke, VT 05832
Yes! We have arranged for discounted rooms at the Burke Mountain Hotel & Conference Center. You can call them at (802) 626-7400 and use group number 40966. The block does not hold any specific inventory of rooms - guests book based on hotel availability only. Therefore, while there is no cut-off date, we recommend booking early. The hotel offers the following rates for our block: Standard Studio: $134.10/night Deluxe Studio: $152.15/ night One-Bedroom Suite: $179.25/night Two-Bedroom Suite: $269.10/night
There are plenty of smaller inns and AirBnbs in the area that are great options! Please see our Travel page for more accommodations.
Yes! We will have shuttles to and from the venue. Shuttle #1 will leave from the Burke Mountain Hotel promptly at 3:30 PM on Sunday, September 1. Shuttle #2 will leave from the Northeast Kingdom Country Store promptly at 3:30 PM and then stop at the Wildflower Inn, leaving promptly at 3:45 PM. There will be return shuttles to all locations at the end of the shindig (11 PM) and again at 12:30 AM for those who wish to stay for a nightcap / after party.
We want you to wear something that makes you feel beautiful and comfortable. If that means wearing a stretchy mechanic jumpsuit - power to you. If you want to wear an evening gown, go for it! But generally, think casual farm wedding (Summer dresses or funky jumpsuits, slacks with a button down or sport coat).
The barn has uneven floors and the reception/cocktail hour will take place outside in the grass (weather permitting). Spiky heels are strongly discouraged but again, you do you.
Weather permitting, the ceremony and cocktail hour will take place outside but the reception will be inside. September in Northern Vermont can be warm or cold (welcome to the Northeast!). You might want to bring a jacket, sweater, or wrap just in case it's cold, and perhaps a hat or parasol for the sun.
Yes, there is parking at the venue. However, since there will be an open bar, we recommend taking the shuttle or having a designated driver/carpooling. Sadly, there is no Uber in Burke!
Is this a Jewish wedding? Um, yes there will be food and drinks. We will have appetizers at the cocktail hour, a full open bar, as well as a 3-course meal and desserts!
Um, is there a sun and moon? Of course we will have dancing. We will be graced with the musical stylings of the Silver Arrow Band, who will help you dance your tush off.
We are registered at Zola and REI. We have also set up a wedding fund to benefit the Shanta Foundation, a non-profit organization that partners with underserved rural villages in Myanmar to make effective, sustainable change focusing on education, quality health care and economic opportunities. You can find links to our registries and the Shanta fund on the Registry tab.
You won’t need to, but also please don’t because it would violate the venue’s liquor license!
