Per German law, you are allowed to drive up to 6 months in Germany without a German license, you do need your American/U.S. license with you!
Most Germans may know a bit of English to help you or call someone else to help! Here are a few words that are helpful in the case you are not with someone German or with the me (the bride): Entschuldigung, Sprechen sie English?: Excuse me, Do you speak English? Hallo: Hello! Tschüss: Bye! Dankeschön!: Thank you very much! Danke!: Thank you! Guten Morgen!: Goodmorning! Bitte: Please I also recommend downloading Google translate, it has a feature where you can aim your camera and it’ll translate!
Yes, and they accept most American cards! Some places are only euro cash, it’s best to pull out a few euro to have on you!
Like said your American cards will work, however check with your bank about international spending and fees! We also recommend taking out a few euros from the machines around Germany! Try to exchange in a German bank if you can! BEWARE (emphasis on BEWARE) of using atms from “Euronet” they will charge you a lot just to pull out money!
Germany doesn’t have Uber however they do have taxis, taxis will only accept euro cash though, so I recommend renting a car!
