To Happily Ever After

It was a Saturday, Gilbert had promised to take me on a date after work that day. I remember sitting there talking to my coworkers telling them how excited I was because was going to take me to Jupiter’s- one of the best places to eat at in my opinion. We got off at noon that day and I was so excited- and HUNGRY might I add, that as soon as I got home I asked him what time we were going. He said he wasn’t sure yet. I’m pretty sure I asked him about 6 times because I was STARVING. Eventually I gave up and said I was going to shower and get ready so that we could go. He said okay sounds good. Well after my shower I noticed that he fell asleep and all I could think was how could he sleep while knowing that I was dying because my stomach was empty? But I was like you know he’s taking me to Jupiter’s so let’s just roll with it. So I took my time I got ready you know I was going back-and-forth between casual or dressing up a little bit because it was supposed to be date night and finally I’m finished and I woke him up. It was like five thirtyish. I said, what time are we leaving? He was like oh we’ll leave around six I think is when it was, long story short, we’re finally in the truck and remember that we had to stop at O’Reillys because he needed something. I can’t remember what but I just remember that across the street there was an arrest going down and I was invested. And if you know me, you know that I want to know what’s going on or gets back in and we start heading to Sugarland in the entire time. The music is just jamming so loud and I’m rocking with it, I have the aux so of course all the good jams are playing. Well, we finally get to the Sugarland Square and they still have all the Christmas stuff up the lights in the Christmas tree telling him oh look they do still have all the Christmas stuff up, your mom just asked me. So I am ready to drag him into Jupiter because I don’t even know how I’m standing at this point. And he’s like oh well hang on I have to take this call, while he’s on the phone I’m watching this group of people in front of the fountain. Eventually he comes back and said let’s go see what they are doing, we thought it was music and turns out it wasn’t. I did end up asking about all the horse statues that are usually in the fountain, curious on where they went. He ends up pointing and saying oh no look over there and of course I fall for it and next thing you know, I turn back around and he’s down on one knee looking like he’s either holding his breath or about to pass out but all he says in a stammer is “I love you, will you marry me- I love you.”and OF COURSE I said yes and didn’t even realize but I hit him in his shoulder and then all of our family pops up and overall it was a great surprise ❤️ Major prop to my love for pulling it off 🫶🏽
