Aristeo and Matt met in October 2015. They met online and got to know each other spending time during weekly hiking adventures. They started to officially date on March 22, 2016.
Aristeo asked Matt to marry him on October 17, 2020, under the Golden Gage Bridge on a hot San Francisco Summer day.
Matt asked Aristeo to marry him at Lone Mountain in San Francisco on November 7, 2020, a beautiful sunny day overlooking the wildflowers and his favorite landmark, Sutro Tower. The location is meaningful to Aristeo because he completed his MBA there.
