Four and a half years ago, I saw a girl walking around outside Franklin Springs Pentecostal Holiness Church, across the street from the Emmanuel College campus. I offered to walk with her to the lunch the church was having. The next week, I offered to walk her to her dorm. The week after that, we just walked. In the following months, We walked and talked and forgot the time as often as we met each other. We typically found our way to a tree with a tire-swing next to her dorm where we'd sit and spend hours learning about each other.
Four and a half years ago, on the evening of our anniversary he took me by that same tree. Approaching it, I saw candles around it on the ground. I had suspected that he had more plans that evening and he told me I was right. He then asked me to marry him and I was in shock. All I could say was yes.
